Getting ready for another 40°C weekend with fish and chips on the patio with my Austrian brother Peter Pilz. Watch for him flying over your head in the winter time; ski-freak.

DOWN TIME

It's been storming all week, so it's time to make the perfect coffee and flip through the pages of a good book.  Hoping for some sunshine this weekend as I journey to Vancouver for some good times!

NEW KICKS

I picked up these boots by Damir Doma, the other day. I'm loving them for summer as they are light weight and very breathable.  On the surface, they appear to be plain canvas boots, but they are lined with super soft textured leather. The quality of the materials are exceptional - even the zipper is top notch. They make you feel like a bit of a ninja when you wear them, but ninjas are kick-ass, so rock them out and strap them on your feet! €350

OBJECT OF UNNECESSARY CONSUMERISTIC OBSESSION

I am obsessed with this hoodie from MA+. This is the exactly what I look for in a garment: simplistic design with detail in the construction, not the aesthetic. The ultra premium fabrics are obviously another characteristic that garners admiration in its construction, along with its precise cut and hand-stitching. Find an MA+ retailer and strap this on your back, just make sure that you have deep pockets ;) €1500

BERONIA MAZUELO RESERVA

After a long day of working on assignments, it's nice to sit back and unwind with a nice glass of wine. I tried this '06 mazuelo at Fontana Café, this evening, and it really hit the spot. It's a little bit smokey and spicy as I seem to get hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, but it also has a dark berry-type vibe. Also, it is a VERY heavy red, so it packs a punch. Definitely have it with a steak (I had it with a burger, so classy haha), or some kind of red meat to tame it down if you like your reds to be a bit lighter. I am by no means a wine connoisseur, but I would certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a bit of a smokey, spicy, extra full-bodied red wine. You can pick up a bottle of Beronia Mazuelo Reserva for around 20 euros and I can assure you that it is quite good value =)


Just a few more scribbles of the pen and this semester is over! Can't wait!

UNHAPPY FEET

Please do yourself a favour and buy well-made, well-fitting boots. At least, buy some good, supportive, insoles and you won't end up with a fractured cuboid AND peroneal tendonitis like me =(

Today, I picked up these insoles for about 40 euros. They're 100% leather, so they're very breathable and they also have amazing support. If I bought them sooner, I wouldn't be limping around town like fool.

WISHLIST

This outfit is impossible to own on a student budget (€ 4639) unless you're one of those lucky bastards with a trust fund, or maybe no priorities.  Nonetheless, I want it!  A man can dream, can't he?

Out and About

Pretty much spent the whole weekend on my deck soaking up the sun.  Summer finally arrived for us and we were graced with 30+ degree weather all weekend.  After sipping many beverages on the deck, Mike and I went down to the ridge to take some photos.  Probably going to just relax with a movie tonight, pretty tired from doing nothing all day haha.

New Old Cameras

Been a while! Been really busy getting organized to move over to Finland for school.  Really looking forward to that.  What's more, my dad gave me his old Canon AV-1 and some lenses that look like they've never been used haha.  Then, I was telling one of my co-workers about my AV-1 and he gave me his old AE-1 because he said he'll never use it! What luck, huh!? So cool!

Tonight, I cruised around the park and took some shots with the AE-1.  I never thought I'd get into film photography, but it's really fun.  Feels weird to not be able to see your shot until you develop it, but that's also part of the fun.  Anyway, I'm going to try to get some more shots and get them developed so that you guys can see the results.  Hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed themselves!

Oh, almost forgot, made another super-sick purchase that should arrive, I'm hoping, tomorrow.  More on that when it comes in ;)

JOKER

Check out the new promo video for Odyn Vovk's (my favorite designer, in case you couldn't tell haha) Spring/Summer 2012 "Joker" collection.  It's kind of a cool story to the video.  I like it when designers put a bit of thought into the promotion of their collections because, most of the time, it's just a boring "sneak peak" at what is to come from the designer, which hardly channels any sense of vision.

Long Lake Road

Last night I took a cruise out to my family's old farm on Long Lake Road to take some photos.  Was nice to be out in the country again and amongst the rolling hills and peace and quiet.

RECENTLY BOUGHT

I'm technologically regressing today.  I'm sick of typing out my notes and tasks on my iPhone and then forgetting about them.  So, today I picked up a couple of notebooks to carry around with me.  I feel so old school, but really, it's so much faster for me.  I need to organize myself and my things a little better to keep on track!

Was a pretty quiet weekend (with the exception of a bbq followed by drinking games last night).  Didn't get too many photos though.  However, I did make a pretty big purchase today! I'll have more news on that this week!  Hope everyone had a super fun weekend and lifted a few beverages! Cheers y'all.
